Behind the Music

Currently, Christian Denzler is the only one responsible for the AI artists’ sound. The Swiss national, born in Zurich in 1983, has always had a deep love for music. Early on, he could recognize songs from just one or two bars of music — a talent he gradually lost, as new music trends failed to captivate him. Since his teenage years, his heart has belonged to Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Reggae, and Dance hall. Even now, artists like Seeed, Eminem, Chris Webby, The Fugees (especially Lauryn Hill), The Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, NWA, LL Cool J, Missy Elliott, and Kendrick Lamar continue to inspire him. On the producer side, he draws inspiration from Dark child and Timbaland.

Christian was never provided the opportunity to learn an instrument properly because of his many hospital stays as a child, and he later lacked the motivation to practice. Rather, at the age of 19, he fell in love with theatre and joined Theater Altstetten, participating in a wide range of stage productions.

Christian has been working on the subject of artificial intelligence for a while. He looks at how AI is changing and how it affects society and cybersecurity. He also looks at what can be made with generative AI. Furthermore, he had the idea for this project when he was using Suno AI to make a soundtrack for Theater Altstetten. He also noticed that streaming services were getting more and more AI slop, which are songs made by AI that wasn’t very good or have questionable content. He thought it must be possible to make good music with AI after working on the theatre project. Christian had plenty of ideas and was able to tell stories. So, AI tools should be able to help make good music and real originals. Soon after, he was able to make his first song after playing around with AI tools for days. The thought of making new music hasn’t left him since. The project came about from the idea of using AI to make artists and their songs, but with humans still involved and able to shape and change the process.

Enjoy!
